Fly Fishing Rods Designed to Perform
It’d be great if we could talk Mother Nature into blue skies and windless days every time we wanted to hit the river. Unfortunately for us, she rarely cooperates. Whether it’s rainclouds over a high mountain lake or blistering heat in the open plains, we’ve all had to brave the elements for the love of fly fishing—and our rods are no different. When you’re fighting the wind to hit a run framed by deadfall and low hanging branches, the only way to get that fish to bite is having the right skills and the right fly rod. Here at Montana Casting Co.®:, we take pride in creating fly fishing rods that will out-perform your expectations no matter the conditions. You’ve got the skills. We’ve got the rods. The river is calling.
Fly Fishing Rods Designed to be Tough
Do you remember when your best friend slammed a car door on the tip of your favorite fly rod? We certainly do. In fact, we’ve dropped, snagged, and even stepped on our rods countless times over the course of our fly fishing adventures. Sometimes, despite our best intentions, we fishermen treat our rods rough. Because we at Montana Casting Company know this, we’ve taken it upon ourselves to deliver you a fly fishing rod that not only casts effortlessly but is tough enough to last a lifetime of bumps, batterings, and best friends. Happy fishing.
Fly Fishing Rods Designed to Make Memories
We believe a fly fishing rod is more than the sum of its parts. It’s your tool. It’s your connection to the river and each memory you make while on the water. We all have a rod we fly fished with until we simply couldn’t anymore. It’s the same fly rod you learned to cast with. The rod you used to hook monster rainbows on the Russian River in Alaska or the one you almost lost when your raft cap-sized while floating the Blackfoot. It was in your hands when a surprised moose nearly trampled you and it was there the last time you and your father spent a day on the water. It’s the same fly fishing rod that your eight-year-old clutched, your hands engulfing theirs as they learned to load the rod and snap the line forward into their first roll cast.
As a family owned and operated company right here in the beautiful state of Montana, we understand the value of time spent on the river and the memories we make there. Perhaps more importantly, we know what it takes to make a fly rod that will keep you on the water, making memories for years to come.
"Stored Energy"
All Montana Casting Co.® rods are finished with the highest quality epoxy and thread wraps with metallic highlights. Look for our signature metallic "spring" around the middle ferrule—a symbol of each rod’s potential to build, store, and release energy in perfect harmony.
The Story Behind the Names
Each model of our fly rods is named after a fishing access site in Montana. These sites are special, both for the fish we caught and the memories we made. In naming our rods after places like these, we hope to honor those memories and the beautiful state we call home.
