Another year of fly fishing (and selling fly rods) is behind us, but we'd like to start this "Year in Review" with a simple thank you.
There are bigger, older names out there in the fly fishing world, many of them great companies, but you chose to support Montana Casting Co. You purchased our fly rods and reels. You tried our new products, like the Sea Threads Hoodies, Mag Grab Minis, and Drift Belts. You followed us on social media, subscribed to our newsletter, left us reviews, and shared your fly fishing stories. You're the reason we’ve come as far as we have, so thank you for your trust and support. Going forward into 2026, we promise to continue earning it.
Now, some letters from our team reflecting on 2025:
Another Year of Fly Fishing Stories
As most of you know, when you order from Montana Casting Co., we always call you to say thank you and confirm your order is correct before we ship. 2025 was a very busy year, and I made as many of these calls to all of you as I could. I thoroughly enjoy sharing a fishing story or two when speaking with all of you. I especially enjoy calling customers who don’t expect a call; just saying "Thanks!" seems to make their day!
We look forward to a fantastic 2026 as we develop additional innovative fly-fishing products. As always, I look forward to seeing you on the water and sharing a fishing story!

Perfecting the Art of Catching Trout on a Fly Rod & Capturing Them on Camera
2025 was a great year for us! We had lots of fly fishing opportunities throughout the year. We love fishing Montana waters, and we spent time on many of Western Montana’s rivers, lakes, and streams. I had a lot of fun videoing fish takes, fights, and releases. I always marvel at the uniqueness and beauty of each fish.
My most memorable moment of 2025 was trying to video a fish fight on a Warm Springs fly rod, walking it toward the riverbank, and falling into the river on a cold March day. With a GoPro clipped into a chest harness, I was able to film the whole underwater debacle of feet trying to get back underneath me, as well as trying not to lose a fish. I emerged triumphantly with a trout still on the line!

Thank you so much to all our email and social media subscribers. We always look forward to bringing you quality content in our emails, blogs, and social media. We can’t tell you how much we appreciate you being a part of the Montana Casting Co. family! Here’s wishing you a wonderful holiday season and lots of great fishing in the new year!

Grateful for Our Customers, New and Old
Hey Montana Casting Co. crew,
Whether you know me from a phone call or just my handwriting on your package, I’m the one behind the scenes making sure your orders are packed with care and shipped out on time—ready to handle whatever journey lies ahead.
I wear quite a few hats here at MCCo. Most days I’m fulfilling orders, but I’m also behind a lot of the product photos you see on the website and occasionally creating content for social media. If you remember our Halloween video featuring the new drift belts—yep, that was me and my trusty sidekick (my 10-year-old son).
We genuinely love receiving your orders, emails, and reviews. Seeing familiar names pop up again and again never gets old, and we’re incredibly grateful for each and every one of you. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for supporting us. I can’t wait to recognize even more of your names and continue finding new ways to say thank you for every order you place.
Wishing you a happy holiday season and an amazing New Year.
- Savanna McNellis (Order Fulfillment)
