What is the purpose of the Affiliate Program?
Our Affiliate Program is designed to be a mutually beneficial relationship between us and folks who are excited about our gear. As an affiliate, you’ll post about the Montana Casting Co. products you’re enjoying on your social media channels. You will help generate sales for Montana Casting Co. and in return, you’ll make a commission on the sales those posts generate and receive special discounts on items in our store.
How do I become a Montana Casting Co. Affiliate?
Fill out the application form by creating a Montana Casting Co. account and then clicking on the Affiliate Center menu, and then Affiliate Dashboard. You will get a message prompting you to fill out an application. Keep in mind that we can only accept a limited number of affiliates. See the Affiliate Guide for more information. Please note, you must be at least 18 years old to apply.
How do I set up my Affiliate Account?
Once you’ve been accepted into the program, you’ll need to complete the following within 10 days:
- Login to your Simple Affiliate Dashboard through the Montana Casting Co. Website.
- Complete a W-9 form and email it to us at affiliate@montanacastingco.com. A link to the W-9 form can be found in your Affiliate Dashboard menu by logging into your Montana Casting Co. account. We cannot pay commissions until we have received your completed W-9.
- Set up the Payout section of your Affiliate Dashboard by connecting to the Stripe App.
- It is recommended to add your Affiliate Link from the “Links” section of your Affiliate Dashboard to your website, blog, and/or social media accounts. This will help increase your commissions.
- Ensure you have access to the Google Drive folder we set up for you with a copy of the Affiliate Guide and approved logo assets.

What are the benefits of being an Affiliate?
Get paid to do more of what you’re already doing: you’ll continue making social media posts about fly fishing, but now you’ll receive a 10% commission on the sale of eligible products generated through those posts.
Land deep discounts on performance fly fishing gear: you’ll get 50% off on up to two eligible rods and two eligible reels. Additionally, you can use your own discount code at any time to get 20% off.

What do I need to do to maintain my status as an Affiliate?
You will need to make a minimum of three social media posts each month highlighting Montana Casting Co. gear. To make a commission from sales generated by these posts, you’ll want to make sure you include your Affiliate Link in each of these posts, tag @montanacastingco, and include either #montanacastingco or #mccoflyrods.
To track the number of posts you’ve made, we ask that you create a Google Sheet with the post date and a direct link to the post after each post has been made.
What Montana Casting Co. products can I earn a commission on?
Generally speaking, most products on the Montana Casting Co. store are eligible for you to earn a commission, including fly rods, reels, lines, accessories, and outfits. That said, there’s a few items that aren’t included in the program: Custom rods and any other customizations, fly rod cases, fly rod socks, and e-gift cards.

How will I know if I’ve made a sale?
You simply need to log in to your dashboard to see how many sales you’ve made. Just look in the “Referrals” section of your dashboard.
When will I get paid?
You’ll be paid at the beginning of each month for the commissions you make on your referrals, assuming At least 30 days have passed from the date of the sale.
There is a grace period of 30 days between when a customer makes a purchase using your referral link and when you are eligible to receive commission for that item. This is to allow the customer time to return the item if necessary. Should an affiliate lead return an item, that commission will be deducted from your commissions.
