Description

Consider the Warm Springs fly rod our hotrod!

Affectionately nicknamed “Old Blue”, the Warm Springs is the Montana Casting Co. top-shelf fly rod—smooth, reliable, and tough.

This 9 ft fly fishing rod is made with Montana Casting Co.'s own Toray carbon fiber high-modulus rod blank, offering unparalleled line control and durability.

Delicate enough to land dries. Powerful enough to drive heavy nymph rigs or streamers through the wind.

Whatever you’re fishing, the Warm Springs’ smooth, medium-fast action will do the heavy lifting for you so you can focus on landing the perfect presentation. Though designed for use in freshwater environments, it is just as suitable for saltwater fishing.

All of our fly rods come with a rod sock and rod/reel combo case.

I purchased this rod for

"I purchased this rod for my wife for an upcoming trip to Montana. We haven’t tested it out on the water yet, but the feel and action is awesome. Test casting it on a baseball field reveals great accuracy. The rod is practical and stylish."

The overall experience with Montana

"The overall experience with Montana Casting was PHENOMENAL! I'm a Midwestern guy, novice to intermediate skill level, so needless to say, I had allot of questions. Scott took his time to thoroughly answer them all and fill in the gaps that I didn't know existed. He also took the time to have great off topic conversation. I recieved my new Warm Spring and Envy reel. Everything looks and feels great, just as Scott described. I haven't gotten to try it out yet, but my excitement to do so is through the roof. Scott also took the time to help me figure out a line setup for another one of my rods. Thanks again for the incredible experience. I look forward to doing business with you for many years to come! Sincerely; Scott Pace"

Get Hooked Up!

"Their customer service is top notch! Scott helped me select a rod and reel combo, and worked with me to customize a pre-made rod. I selected a 4 piece Warm Springs 5wt, and Scott was able to put my name on it with a tribute to the MSU Bobcats! Check out MCC's social media pages for a video Scott posted about the process! The rod turned out awesome, and was better than I expected. I paired it with the Elite 406 reel and had them rig up an extra spool! In fact, I just ordered another extra spool to set up an older 6wt I have. I have not fished the setup yet, but I'm looking forward to warmer weather here in Colorado to try it out. The quality is exceptional and I can't wait to "Get Hooked Up"! Oh, and Go Cats!"

Bought a 2 piece 4wt

"Bought a 2 piece 4wt rod for my son after he fell and broke his rod of 25 years. Hard to find a 2 piece rod these days. The rod he received is fabulous. Awesome action and feel. He is extremely happy with it. The customer service is amazing. We both received a call from the company and are very impressed. Now for the streams to reopen."

I fished my new MCC

"I fished my new MCC Warm Springs 9’ 5wt on the Lower Mountain Fork this weekend and was really impressed. Mostly indicator nymphing with roll and overhead casts, the rod felt smooth and responsive. The first trout I hooked I actually felt through the rod before the indicator dipped — amazing sensitivity. I’m very happy with the rod, and Scott’s personal touch makes it even better."

Flawless!

"Good communications, quick shipment, well packaged, product as described. Recommended! Had one minor tweak I wanted to do with the rod and that was taken care of posthaste. A+ service. Thanks! JS"

Fantastic Rod

"An absolute rocket of a rod. Took it out the very next day I received it and couldn’t be anymore happy. Heavier rod that handled wind no problem on the lower Deschutes the other day. Couldn’t be more than happy to support MCC!"

Craig Fly Fishing Rod

It’d be great if we could talk Mother Nature into blue skies and windless days every time we wanted to hit the river. Unfortunately for us, she rarely cooperates. Whether it’s rainclouds over a high mountain lake or blistering heat in the open plains, we’ve all had to brave the elements for the love of fly fishing—and our rods are no different. The Craig fly rod, like all Montana Casting Co. rods, was designed with harsh conditions in mind.

Dearborn Fly Fishing Rod

We put performance first in all our fly fishing gear—that’s why the Dearborn fly rod combines a high-octane fast action and, woven carbon composition to help you achieve precision casting in the toughest conditions. Learn more about how we’ve applied all the Montanan grit, experience, and values at our disposal to bring you fly rods that will out-fish your expectations at every cast.

Warm Springs Fly Fishing Rod

The Warm Springs is our flagship fly fishing rod. We poured every ounce of our collective craftsmanship and fly fishing know-how into its design because we believe a fly rod is more than the sum of its parts. It’s your tool. It’s your connection to the river and every memory you make on the water.
