Warm Springs Fly Fishing Rod Specifications
Consider the Warm Springs our hotrod! Affectionately nicknamed “Old Blue”, the Warm Springs is the Montana Casting Co.® meat and potatoes fly rod—smooth, reliable, and tough.
This is a slightly heavier rod; designed with grit in mind, we made sure it still casts smooth as butter. With a fast action, powerful Toray carbon fiber backbone, and durable build, the Warm Springs is ready for all your future fly fishing adventures. What stories will you be telling around the campfire?
- Offered in 2-piece and 4-piece models
- 4wt - 9wt rods
- 9 ft length
- Toray high-modulus rod blank
- Combines high performance with durability
- Great for all skill levels.
- Comes with rod sock and signature MCCo. rod and reel case designed for either 2-piece or 4-piece rods
- 7wt - 9wt rods come with both a standard and fighting butt
- Designed for use in fresh water environments, but can be used for saltwater fishing as well.*
All Montana Casting Co.® rods are finished with the highest quality epoxy and thread wraps with metallic highlights. Look for our signature metallic "spring" around the middle ferrule—a symbol of each rod’s ability to build, store, and release energy in perfect harmony.
A note on the Warm Springs model: Fewer ferrules mean fewer interruptions in a rod’s flexibility and performance. For peak performance, we recommend ordering the Warm Springs as a two-piece rod, but we’ve tacked on a four-piece option just in case you’re looking for something a bit more travel-ready.
*Always remember to wash all your gear with fresh water after a hard day of fishing in the salt. Saltwater will
cause corrosion without proper washing and maintenance of your gear.Every Rod & Reel is Covered by The Montana Handshake Warranty:
Lifetime warranty against defects and accidents on all of our rods and reels for as long as you own them.
See The Montana Handshake Limited Warranty for details.AND The Montana Casting Co.® 30-Day Satisfaction Guarantee:
We think your relationship with your Montana Casting Co.® fly rod will be love at first cast! In the unlikely event that it's not, Montana Casting Co.® offers a 30-day satisfaction guarantee.
See our Terms of Purchase and Refund for details. The Warm Springs is named for the Warm Springs fishing access site on the Lower Madison, a place of many memories… The lower Madison is a diverse and beautiful stretch of water. Beginning in the remote Bear Trap Canyon, it flows down into a series of lazy twists and turns that meet with the Gallatin and Jefferson rivers—forming the mighty Missouri. Full of long runs, riffles and moss beds, the Warm Springs fishing access is just one point at which to enjoy this amazing leg of the Madison. I spent many summer evenings trying to out-fish my brother along these banks. We’d stay out until the growl of our stomachs threatened to scare the fish away; only then would we return to camp to feast on campfire-charred potatoes and the evening’s catch. Those nights, we stayed up long after the sun went down listening to our father’s stories and watching the stars turn overhead. The next morning, we’d be right back on the river—another day, another memory.
